11th Annual Give for Good Coming Up on May 7

SHREVEPORT, La. – The 11th Annual Give for Good, North Louisiana’s largest day of giving, is just around the corner. Established in 2014 by the Community Foundation of North Louisiana, Give for Good has been a significant force in raising over $19 million for the community. This year’s event aims to empower the entire community to get involved in causes they care about while supporting local nonprofits.

Unrestricted Giving for a Greater Impact

Give for Good provides a platform for all donors to transform the community for the better. One unique aspect of this event is that the donations are unrestricted, allowing the nonprofits to allocate the raised funds wherever they see fit. This flexibility enables organizations to address urgent needs, develop new programs, or enhance existing services.

Aside from the donations made during Give for Good, the Community Foundation has a Lagniappe Fund, which consists of additional dollars contributed by the foundation, supporting organizations, local businesses, and generous donors. Organizations that raise a certain percentage of the total Give for Good donations also receive a portion of the Lagniappe Fund, further maximizing their impact.

Early Giving and Participation

The official Give for Good day is on May 7, but early giving starts on April 23, giving donors an opportunity to contribute ahead of time. Those interested in supporting the event should note that the minimum donation amount is $10. Additionally, if monetary donations aren’t feasible, there are other ways to give back, such as attending nonprofit events or dining at participating restaurants that support the cause.

Success of Give for Good 2023

The previous year was a significant success for Give for Good, with a total of $2,755,633 raised for 209 organizations, thanks to the generosity of 4,412 donors. The impact of this day of giving was truly remarkable, showcasing the community’s spirit of giving and support for local nonprofits.

Get Involved

To learn more about Give for Good or to get involved in this year’s event, individuals can reach out to the Community Foundation at 318-221-0582.
