What does one wear to an event with a theme of Rhinestone Cowboy? The Bossier Arts Council offers a few hints just in time for the 2024 ARTini: Rhinestone Cowboy.
“Every year we say the dress code for ARTini is cocktail attire, but with a splash of the Arts!” said BAC’s Marketing Coordinator Alex Richardson, “Why stick with the ‘Black & White Tie’ when you mix and match colors, patterns, and more?”
“Sparkling Rhinestones and Brighter Smiles! Boots, Buckles, and Bolo Ties! There’s no Right or Wrong Way to Style your Fit this June, as long as you Look Your Best!” reads the BAC’s Facebook post.
The theme can be described in a few ways…Bedazzled Western, Neon Cowboy, Bespoke Southern, and Gritz & Glam. It is a love letter to the character of Glenn Campbell’s hit single, “Rhinestone Cowboy”, the traveling musician looking to make his big break on Broadway.
Trendy Western Aesthetic
“This year’s theme could not have come at a better time as we see the role of the Western aesthetic throughout popular culture,” said Executive Director of the Bossier Arts Council Brittany Pope.
“Let’s not kid ourselves, we know where we are!;” Richardson said, “North Louisiana! East Texas! South Arkansas! Everyone is going to have something in their closet that’s perfect to wear!”
Richardson says he plans to wear blonde bell-bottoms and a pair of dazzling Lazuli slip-ons.
Encouragement to Glam Up
“Have fun with the theme! Attendees are encouraged to glam up their western wear and put a western twist to their traditional cocktail looks,” suggested Pope.
