Shreveport Back to School Giveaway Registration Details

The city of Shreveport is gearing up for Barbara Norton’s African American Celebration Parade Committee’s 20th annual Back to School Shoe and Backpack Giveaway. This much-anticipated event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at the Pines Road Walmart location. Registration Information

Pre-registration is required for the giveaway, and interested individuals can sign up at three different locations on specific dates:

  • Monday, July 15: 3709 Greenwood Rd from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Monday, July 15: 6363 Hearne Ave #115 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, July 23: 1867 Nelson St from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

During registration, attendees must provide proof of government assistance (blue sheet) along with a state ID. It is also recommended that children attend the giveaway event in person at the Pines Road Walmart on July 27 to receive their new shoes and backpacks.
