Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and Shreveport City Officials Announce G-Unit Studios Plan

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and City Officials Reveal Plans for G-Unit Studios in Shreveport

SHREVEPORT, La. – Excitement swept through Shreveport on April 18, 2024, as city officials prepared to greet famed rapper and entrepreneur Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, who announced his plans for the establishment of G-Unit Studios in the city.

The developments were disclosed at a news conference which involved a ceremonial signing of the Millennium Studios lease agreement between 50 Cent and the city of Shreveport. The ceremony unfolded at 4 p.m. on the steps of Government Plaza.

Traffic Adjustments for the Announcement

In anticipation of the substantial crowd, city officials decided to close the 500 block of Travis Street starting at 10 a.m. By 2 p.m., the remaining streets including sections of McNeil, Travis, Texas, and Marshall streets were also shut down.

Safety was cited as a top concern by city officials. Shreveport’s CAO, Tom Dark stated, “We’re having a kind of celebration tomorrow and we expect a number of people there. To ensure their safety and provide good access for emergency vehicles, some of the streets are going to be closed around Government Plaza.”

Preparing for Liftoff

Despite the high-profile public appearance of 50 Cent, the paperwork transferring over the studio building to the rapper had already been signed. To make sure the building was ready for its new occupant, Lionheart Moving, a Bossier City moving company, posted on social media that their crew had assisted in clearing out the premises earlier this month.

Remarkable Economic Implications

The establishment of G-Unit Studios marks a significant step towards fostering the local creative economy and positioning Shreveport as a hub for film and music production.

The city of Shreveport is ecstatic about the potential benefits of this development. Local authorities are hopeful that the introduction of such a venture into the city will not only provide employment opportunities but additionally lure outside investment and broaden the city’s appeal as a cultural and entertainment center.

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, the man behind the promising G-Unit Studios, is not new to business. Beyond his successful music career, the rapper has proven himself as a serial entrepreneur with several lucrative ventures under his belt, including his partnership with the internationally recognized brand, VitaminWater, which was acquired by Coca-Cola for $4.1 billion in 2007.

This news comes as an exciting development for the city of Shreveport and the local creative economy. More information about the plan and how the project will progress is expected in the coming days.
