Shreveport, Louisiana – More ripples are set to flow through downtown Shreveport as real estate broker, Beth King, recently confirmed the sale of two significant city buildings to rap mogul Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson. The renowned rapper had previously announced a lease agreement with the city for Millennium Studios back in April.

Downtown Shreveport Open to New Possibilities

The two purchased buildings are strategically located on 218 and 205 Texas St., across the street from each other, adjacent to the old Dripp Donuts building. According to King, when a prominent investor enters the market, it often triggers further investment, creating a ripple effect.

With residential continuing to be strong, that only adds to the mix, and I think what the buyer of these two properties, all the things that he’s working on are going to all do well for Shreveport,” King expressed optimistically.

A Piece of Family History Sold

The Cush family, known to have held onto the historic downtown Shreveport properties for generations, recently sold the structures. Richard John, married to Joseph Cush’s daughter, explains the buildings had been leased out for some time, but the family wanted to ensure they land in the hands of a proprietor who would revamp them and bring new life to downtown.

John confirmed the properties were sold at market price, signaling another significant investment in the city by 50 Cent. He believes this is a positive step forward, as the city’s residents will witness renewed energy in the purchased properties, highlighting the new owner’s commitment to Shreveport.
