Shreveport Resident Fatally Shot in Driveway; Victim’s Name Released
Shreveport, Louisiana – A chilling murder took place in the quiet residential neighborhood of East 70th Street, when a man was found lying on a driveway late Monday, June 29, fatally shot in the neck.
Deadly Incident in Shreveport
The victim was identified as Jacoby Willis, a 46-year-old man originally from Dallas, Texas. He was discovered unresponsive in the driveway by local authorities during the early hours of June 29, following reports of a shooting in the 7200 block of Bethany Street.
Willis was allegedly engaged in a conversation with another individual when a family member heard several gunshots. Concerned for Willis’ well-being, this family member found him with a critical gunshot injury to the neck, rendering him unresponsive. Despite efforts to rescue him, Willis was declared dead at a local hospital on Monday night at 11:59 p.m.
Suspect at Large as Investigation Continues
An unidentified suspect was reported fleeing the crime scene dressed in dark clothing, said to be last seen heading in the direction of Turner Lane. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection to the crime, but the Shreveport Police Department (SPD) is thoroughly investigating the incident.
