"Restaurant Relocating to Racetrack"

Louisiana Downs: New Home of Popular Bossier City Restaurant

BOSSIER CITY, La. – A popular restaurant gets a new lease on life as it relocates to a much-loved local venue. Lucky Palace, a Bossier City restaurant famed for its commendable food and wine list, is making the iconic Louisiana Downs Racetrack and Casino its new home. The relocation is set to be finalized by the end of September, promising a seamless blend of culinary refinement with engaging entertainment.

Lucky Palace: A Bossier City Tradition

Established in 1997, Lucky Palace came to be when Kuan Lim stopped in Bossier City on his way to Texas, intending to buy a restaurant there. However, he found the casino gaming market in Bossier City to be a more viable setting for his endeavor. Catering to the many visitors frequenting the area’s casinos, Lucky Palace soon became a staple of the local dining scene.

With its notable accomplishments, Lucky Palace has earned its position in the local and national culinary landscape. The restaurant was a three-time semi-finalist for the coveted James Beard Award for Outstanding Wine Program in 2018, 2019, and 2020. It has also achieved recognition as one of the top 100 Chinese restaurants in America, signifying its consistent commitment to quality and innovative food and wine offerings.

Louisiana Downs: A Perfect Pairing

Kevin Preston, President of Louisiana Downs, expressed his excitement about the transition. “This is a perfect pairing, just like the wine and food at Lucky Palace,” Preston said. “There is nothing more iconic in Bossier City than Lucky Palace and Louisiana Downs. Now, both will be under the same roof to serve people from all across the country.”

Carrying Forward a Legacy

The founder of Lucky Palace, Kuan Lim, sadly passed away in October 2022. Despite the loss, the restaurant continued its operations, honoring Lim’s vision. Commenting on the move to Louisiana Downs, Holly Lim, a representative of Lucky Palace, said, “Lim would be so happy with this move to Louisiana Downs. He loved the people who came to his restaurant, and he loved Bossier City. This move will allow us to keep his legacy alive but in a new location to serve his friends.”

Continuing the Tradition in a New Setting

Exuding optimism about the future of Lucky Palace, Louisiana Downs is keenly preparing for the transition. Renovations are underway in a former restaurant space on the first floor of the pavilion, set to welcome Lucky Palace. By combining the thrill of racetrack and casino excitement with the distinguished dining experience that Lucky Palace brings, patrons can anticipate an enhanced experience that truly embodies the best of Bossier City.
