In a highly-anticipated move, North Shreveport’s new Amazon distribution center is gearing up for large-scale hiring. For residents of Shreveport and the surrounding areas, this signals a potential boost in job opportunities.
While mass recruitment is yet to start, initial hiring has already begun at the facility for leadership and management positions, engineering roles, and operations personnel. People interested in these positions are encouraged to visit Amazon’s career website for information and applications.
However, those who are eyeing a career at Amazon but do not fit into these roles need not worry. According to District 2 State Rep. Steven Jackson, there is still plenty more to come. “They have not started their large-scale hiring yet“, Jackson reassured, addressing concerns that some job seekers might feel they’ve missed out on opportunities.
“Some of the initial hiring for engineers, some of the high-tech, high-skill positions, they have put out. And that’s open and on their website”, Jackson continued, “Go to their career employment site and get that information”.
The arrival of Amazon’s distribution center is expected to bring a significant impact on the local economy. Not only will this create job opportunities for hundreds of locals, but it will also spur businesses that will cater to the demands of the center and its future employees.
Job seekers are advised to stay updated with Amazon’s career website for the latest job postings. There are hundreds of positions expected to be posted in the coming days. With these encouraging developments, North Shreveport residents are hopeful about the promised large-scale hiring and the job opportunities it presents.
