This innovative facility, which opened its doors in September, not only serves as a hub for logistics but also is a celebration of local talent, culture, and community spirit.
A Canvas of Community
The striking visuals you’re greeted with are the brainchild of three talented graduates from Louisiana State University Shreveport (LSUS): Victoria Pouncy, Cassidy Adams, and Bailey Harris. These local artists collaborated to create murals that not only reflect the beauty of Louisiana but also embody the spirit of the community. Pouncy, who graduated just this spring, shared her excitement, saying, “I’m still getting used to the fact that my artwork is in a building like that.” The art pieces sprinkle a bit of love and local flair throughout the center, making it feel like home for the 1,300+ employees who report there daily.
Murals with Heart
Each artist put their unique twist on the murals, with themes and concepts inspired by their experiences and passions. Pouncy contributed stunning images of pelicans and a magnificent magnolia, Louisiana’s state bird and flower, as part of the “Shreveport With Love” mural. “The team was really big on producing something for the local community and to represent the talent that local artists have,” she remarked.
Adams, who also graduated in Spring 2024, created a mural titled “Ark-La-Tex,” featuring a girl deep in thought, jotting down dreams and ideas in a notebook. “She’s dreaming of the world she wants to live in,” Adams explained, pointing out elements like an Amazon Echo speaker that adds a modern touch to her piece. This creativity is not only visually engaging but also inspires the employees to pursue their dreams.
Meanwhile, Harris took a playful spin with an anime-inspired piece that showcases children enjoying fresh fruits and vegetables, emphasizing Amazon’s fresh food delivery services. These works not only beautify the space but also spark joy and imagination among those who encounter them.
Artistic Collaboration Beyond the Classroom
The journey of these artists began at LSUS, where they developed their skills and honed their craft. Pouncy reflected on how the university opened her eyes to new opportunities by blending traditional and digital art techniques. Her connection with fellow graduate Adams stemmed from social media outreach, showcasing a sense of community and collaboration among local artists. “I really vibed with Cassidy, who is really talented,” Pouncy shared.
The trio navigated through the project with effective teamwork. Pouncy assisted project manager KaDavien Baylor in keeping everyone on track and ensuring that timelines were met. “Overall, it was a really fun experience,” Adams added, emphasizing the importance of their educational experience at LSUS in preparing them for real-world projects like this.
A Call to Support Local Arts

Pouncy is busy with her work at Shreve Memorial Library and is gearing up for her first solo art show. “Everybody needs to go see local art and support local art,” she passionately stated. “There are a lot of talented artists and musicians right here in Shreveport.”
