There’s a whole variety of art exhibits, musical performances, and events lined up that are perfect for anyone looking to dive into local culture and creativity. Let’s take a stroll through what’s happening!
First off, head over to Artspace at 708 Texas St. in Shreveport for the exhibition titled “The Process.” This remarkable showcase, running through October 5, features the incredible works of artists like Emily Ezell, Yuna Todman, Ibrahim Fashho, and the shining light of animation, William Joyce, who even snagged an Academy Award! The exhibition gives us a captivating glimpse into the journey and methods behind the creation of art, making it a perfect outing for art enthusiasts and curious minds alike.
But that’s not all at Artspace! From now until October 15, you can experience the celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, showcasing the works of Lisandra Di Liberto Torres. This special exhibition celebrates the vibrant and rich culture, making it an enriching visit.
Next, make sure to pop by the SAS Gallerie, where you’ll find Ellen Soffer’s exhibition “Shimmer.” Running through November 12, Soffer’s colorful paintings glitter with an activated surface that enchants every viewer. You won’t want to miss it!
As we move forward to the Bossier Arts Council, you’ll be able to see works from Adena Helm in the “Following Breadcrumbs …” exhibition. The opening reception on November 4, from 6-8 p.m., promises to be a delightful encounter with art. It runs through November 19 at the East Bank Gallery.
The fantastic experiences continue at the R.W. Norton Art Gallery with The Artist, an interactive “singing-and-painting” experience exploring the ups and downs of the artistic journey, which will be open until November 24.
When the sun sets, the excitement doesn’t dwindle! Enjoy live music at 2Johns Steak & Seafood every Tuesday to Saturday with local talents creating a lively atmosphere. If you prefer something more vibrant, check out the Sweet Caroline’s Dueling Piano Bar for an engaging musical experience that will keep you entertained long into the night.
If you’re in the mood for a lively karaoke night, head to the Horseshoe Casino’s 1931 Lounge on Thursdays from 7 to 11 p.m. to join in the fun! And for a more laid-back vibe, enjoy live music at Frank’s Pizza or Bayou Thunder, where local artists come together to create a great night out.
Mark your calendars! On October 3, bring your blankets to Provenance Town Center for the Fall Concerts series featuring the Shreveport Symphony. The series continues with more talented acts on October 10 and 17. There’s something magical about enjoying live music under the autumn sky.
Want to satisfy your curiosity about history? Discover more at the Bossier Parish Libraries’ World War II Tuesdays on October 8, where you can dive into discussions about fascinating WWII topics.
