In the heart of Shreveport, if you’ve driven along I-20, you’ve likely seen the eye-catching gold building that proudly displays the image of local rapper Baby Savage, whose real name is Olanza Sanders. Known as the God of Grind, Baby Savage creates music that not only entertains but educates his listeners about business, success, and the importance of building generational wealth.
Baby Savage focuses on delivering tracks that resonate with the everyday struggles of his audience. “I strive to create music that’s not only engaging but also informative,” he said. “Many people stop reading after high school, so I want to make financial education accessible through my lyrics, by discussing topics like investing, stocks, and real estate.”
Recently, Baby Savage had the honor of hosting renowned rapper and entrepreneur Master P at his Shreveport headquarters during a local event called Humor & Harmony. Master P, famed for his significant contributions to the hip-hop industry, has been a mentor to Baby Savage for over 15 years.
During Master P’s visit, the two engaged in a meaningful discussion, sharing wisdom and insights about the music industry. “His visit meant a lot to me. It was inspiring to have someone I’ve looked up to for years come and support my work,” said Baby Savage, who described the experience as rewarding and uplifting.
Baby Savage plans to expand his business endeavors beyond music. With multiple properties across various states, he envisions his building becoming a hub for aspiring entrepreneurs and musicians. “I want to host workshops where people can learn about investing and the music industry. The goal is to empower low-income communities and make education accessible,” he expressed enthusiastically.
His headquarters is set to include an outdoor event center for concerts and meet-and-greets, alongside an educational space that resembles a dynamic stock market environment. With plans to teach trading with minimal investments, Baby Savage aims to open doors for those who are often left behind in the financial landscape.
Through his passion for music and commitment to uplifting his community, Baby Savage hopes to inspire the next generation. He emphasizes the importance of local presence, stating, “Many hip-hop artists leave Louisiana, but I want to build something here in Shreveport.” With the support of figures like Master P and a focus on community education, Baby Savage is on a mission to make lasting change.
Adding to his list of accomplishments, Baby Savage reminisced about collaborating with 50 Cent on YouTube years ago and recognizes the impact the rapper has had on Shreveport. “50 Cent is bringing hope and business to our city, and I’m excited to see how it will change our community for the better,” he said.
With a strong support system and a clear vision, Baby Savage is well on his way to not just achieving success but also helping others along the way, embodying the true spirit of the God of Grind.
