Parents, are you ready for summer to come to a close? Well, school is just around the corner. Caddo Parish schools will start classes in just four weeks. Teachers will be back at school Aug. 5 preparing for the first day of school for the 2024-2025 school year. All Caddo Parish students will report to school Aug. 8.

Important Dates

Here are some important dates to mark on your calendar:

  • Aug. 5: Teachers return to school to prepare for the upcoming school year.
  • Aug. 8: First day of school for all Caddo Parish students.

Get Ready for the New School Year

As the new school year approaches, it’s important for students and parents to start preparing. Here are some tips to help you get ready:

1. Stock Up on School Supplies

Make sure your child has all the necessary school supplies to start the year off right. Check with your child’s school for a list of required supplies.

2. Review the School Calendar

Be sure to review the school calendar for important dates, holidays, and school events throughout the year.

3. Get Back into a Routine

Start getting back into a school routine a week or two before the first day. This will help ease the transition from summer break to the school year.

4. Attend Orientation or Meet the Teacher Events

If your child’s school is hosting an orientation or “Meet the Teacher” event, be sure to attend. This is a great opportunity to meet your child’s teacher and learn more about the upcoming school year.
