Recently, a significant milestone in local entertainment was reached with a topping-off ceremony for the much-anticipated Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana. Scheduled to be the first land-based casino in the Shreveport-Bossier area, this new establishment is generating a lot of excitement among locals.
On July 17, 2024, hundreds gathered to mark the completion of the final beam in the construction of the casino. This moment signifies the project is entering the “home stretch,” and anticipation is palpable. The casino promises to be quite an attraction, featuring an impressive 47,000 square feet of gaming space, 550 hotel rooms and suites, a fitness center, a resort pool, and an expansive 25,000 square feet of event and convention space.
This project is set not only to enrich the city’s entertainment offerings but also to provide significant economic benefits, with projections showing it could bring over $35 million to Bossier City and create around 1,500 jobs. This includes 750 construction jobs and 750 permanent positions once the casino opens its doors, which is expected in early 2025. Not to mention, the venue will feature a designated area for restaurants, bars, and entertainment venues, providing an all-in-one experience for visitors.
