BOSSIER CITY, La. (Arklatex Today) –

A new exhibition at the Bossier Arts Council showcases vibrant pop cultural art, capturing the essence of fashion in brilliant color. On June 14, from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m., the opening reception for the “My Bleeding Heart” exhibition will be held at the Bossier Arts Council, 630 Barksdale Boulevard. The exhibition will showcase the work of Shreveport artist Lauren Ross Simmons and is free for the public to view.

About Lauren Ross Simmons

The Bossier Arts Council hosts My Bleeding Heart exhibition by Lauren Ross Simmons. (Bossier Arts Council) Simmons is a self-taught artist with 20 years of fashion, theatre, and travel experience. Her experiences, especially her time as a wardrobe assistant for tours with Cirque du Soleil and Hello Kitty, helped shape her style.

The Bossier Arts Council hosts My Bleeding Heart exhibition by Lauren Ross Simmons. (Bossier Arts Council) Pop culture, fashion, and brilliant color heavily influence her artwork. She paints iconic past and present figures and utilizes current fashion and design elements to bring them to life. Lauren believes the people one surrounds oneself with, the places one visits, and one’s everyday lifestyle influence one’s artistic vision and ultimately help separate the person as an individual.
