Bossier City Police Cancel Silver Alert for Missing Woman

BOSSIER CITY, La. — Great news on a concerning story that had many in the community on alert! The Silver Alert for 68-year-old Ruby Williams has officially been canceled, and she has been found safe! Earlier today, Louisiana State Police announced that Ruby, who had been reported missing, was located and is now in good hands.

A Concern for the Community

For those who missed it, Ruby was last seen on Monday morning at a location on Airline Drive in Bossier City. She was reported missing after her family grew increasingly concerned for her safety. Ruby suffers from a medical condition that affects her judgment, making her vulnerable to getting lost. With a history of wandering away from home, her family quickly reached out to local authorities, prompting the Silver Alert issuance at approximately 7:24 p.m. last night.

According to reports, Ruby is a black female with gray hair and brown eyes, standing at around 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing about 120 pounds. When she was last seen, she was wearing a black shirt, a sleeveless leopard print jacket over a black jacket with green and red stripes at the wrists, black pants, and white shoes. And there was a chance she was wearing a brown wig!

Community Support

The community rallied together, sharing information and keeping a lookout for Ruby after the alert was issued. People called in with any tips or sightings they might have had. Thankfully, this inspiring support resulted in Ruby being found safely. It’s a powerful reminder of how our local communities can come together in times of need.

Weather Woes to Come

In other local news, Bossier City is bracing for some interesting weather today. For those planning to head outside, be mindful that we’re in for a stormy morning! Meteorologists are predicting thunderstorms, some of which may be heavy, with a 90% chance of rain. Be sure to carry that umbrella and perhaps wear some rain-appropriate footwear if you’re heading out. After the rain, we can expect the skies to turn partly cloudy later in the day, with temperatures soaring to a comfortable high of 76°F.

For the evening, if you’re wondering what to expect, plan for clear skies and a cooler night with lows dipping to around 51°F. Winds will be gentle from the northwest, so it might be a lovely night to enjoy the outdoors if the rain settles down.

Keeping an Eye on Local Events

As we look ahead, the community is buzzing with excitement for the upcoming holiday season, which is shaping up to be one of the busiest in years. With air travel hitting all-time highs, Louisiana airports are preparing for the influx of travelers. If you’ve got travel plans, make sure to check ahead and prepare for the crowds!

Final Thoughts

So, as we all breathe a sigh of relief with the good news about Ruby Williams, let’s remain vigilant and supportive of one another in our community. Whether it’s weather updates or helping a neighbor in need, together we can make a difference! Stay safe, Bossier City, and keep those umbrellas handy!
