Bossier City SONIC Drive-In Team Reaches Final 12 in 2024 DR PEPPER® SONIC® GAMES, Celebrates with $10,000 Donation to Local Schools

The Buzz in Bossier City: Celebrating Achievement and Community Spirit!

In the vibrant city of Bossier City, excitement is in the air as the local drive-in team at SONIC Drive-In, located at 2802 Barksdale Boulevard, has made it to the Final 12 crews in the famed 2024 DR PEPPER® SONIC® GAMES! This is no small feat, and it deserves a huge round of applause!

Giving Back to Schools

As a way to celebrate this incredible achievement, the SONIC Foundation has contributed $10,000 to support schools, students, and educators in the Bossier City area. This generous donation is aimed at funding educational projects on DonorsChoose, an education nonprofit that allows individuals to donate directly to specific classroom requests made by teachers across the United States.

The DR PEPPER® SONIC® GAMES aren’t merely a competition; they serve as the flagship event for SONIC, bringing together local teams from all over to showcase their skills in efficiency, service, and hospitality. Teams engage in various challenges including training sessions, quizzes, and team-building activities, all reflecting SONIC’s dedication to providing fun and exceptional experiences for customers.

A Tradition of Excellence

“The DR PEPPER SONIC GAMES have been a driving force behind our training and community outreach for thirty years,” said Kevin Knutson, Vice President of Training and Operations at SONIC. “Celebrating the success of our top teams, including the outstanding Bossier City team, while giving back to local schools embodies our passion for excellence and community. It’s our way of saying ‘thank you’ to the communities that have cheered us on.”

Local teachers and schools are already benefitting from this generous funding, making learning a little easier and a lot more fun for students in the area. It’s initiatives like this that show the true heart of a community coming together.

The Road to Las Vegas

As the Bossier City team celebrates this milestone, they have their sights set on future challenges. This September, they will travel to Las Vegas for an all-expenses-paid trip to SONIC’s Annual National Convention. There, they will compete live in front of a panel of judges, vying for the title of the top drive-in team along with awards for standout individual team members.

“Quality training is key to any successful food service operation, and our long-standing partnership with SONIC to sponsor these games underscores our shared dedication to excellence,” remarked John Orgeron, National Account Executive for Keurig Dr Pepper, Inc. “The Final 12 teams have set the bar high with their exceptional service and teamwork, inspiring teams nationwide.”

Supporting Education Through Sales

The SONIC Foundation is dedicated to improving public education through its Limeades for Learning initiative, which involves donating a portion of all drink, slush, and shake sales to support local schools. Since its foundation in 2009, SONIC has generously donated over $27 million to support public education, making it one of the country’s biggest contributors to local classrooms.

Join the Celebration!

There’s so much to cheer about for the Bossier City SONIC Drive-In team as they continue their journey in the DR PEPPER® SONIC® GAMES. This achievement speaks volumes about their hard work and commitment to excellence, and we can’t wait to see how they perform in the competition.
