Bossier City Raises Over $1.6 Million for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in 34th Annual Dream Home Giveaway

Bossier City Celebrates the 34th Annual KTBS 3 St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway

On a beautiful Sunday in Bossier City, Louisiana, hearts were filled with joy as the results of the 34th annual KTBS 3 St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway were announced. The winner of the stunning new home is none other than David Ruff from New Boston, Texas. David, who bought three tickets this year, expressed his excitement and gratitude at being selected as the lucky homeowner.

But let’s not forget the main focus of this incredible event – the kids at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis. Thanks to the generosity of people like David and all those who bought tickets, an astounding $1,616,100.00 was raised this year alone to help fund research and treatment for children battling cancer. Over the past 34 years, this remarkable initiative has raised a total of $42,810,190.00.

The Dream Home

This year’s prize home, located at 766 Duckwater Landing, is valued at an impressive $675,000. This luxurious residence is situated in the sought-after Duckwater Landing subdivision in Bossier City. The home features an array of high-end amenities that generously cater to a modern lifestyle.

A Record-Breaking Year

This year set a new benchmark, with all 16,000 tickets selling out in record time, proving just how deeply this initiative resonates within our community. It’s more than just a giveaway; it’s a testament to the caring spirit of the people here. So many individuals and families come together to support a cause that changes lives and provides hope.

A Glance at St. Jude’s Mission

For those who may not know, the KTBS 3 St. Jude Dream Home started 34 years ago as a noble fundraiser aimed at helping children with cancer. It was an idea that sparked a movement, leading to this wonderful campaign that has spread across the country, with homes being built as fundraisers each year.

St. Jude is one-of-a-kind when it comes to treating childhood cancer. They do not charge patients or their families for any aspect of care, including treatment, housing, transportation, or food. This vital work is only possible through donations made by generous folks in the community during events like this dream home giveaway. Regular support ensures that St. Jude can continue providing world-class care to children and their families facing this tough battle.

Looking Ahead

Local builders Rodgers Homes & Construction did an outstanding job once again, showcasing what quality and craftsmanship can achieve in creating a dream home. As the excitement winds down this year, the focus turns once again to the next edition of the KTBS 3 St. Jude Dream Home. It’s set for Tuesday, September 17th next year, and we can’t wait to see how our community will rally once again to make a difference.

Whether you’ve purchased tickets, spread the word, or simply contributed in spirit, you’re part of something much bigger. Together, we’re doing all we can to support the children at St. Jude who need us the most. If you’re inspired to learn more about how you can help these brave kids and their families, feel free to seek out ways to get involved and make a difference!

With gratitude and excitement, we celebrate this milestone achievement and look forward to another commendable chapter in our community’s tradition of generosity and unwavering support.
