Bossier City, Louisiana, is buzzing with news of big changes happening at the Walmart Neighborhood Market located at 4000 Barksdale Blvd. The renovations kicked off on January 16, 2025, and they promise to transform the shopping experience for the community in a fantastic way!
The store manager, Amanda Payton, who has been at the helm for the past three years, has seen firsthand the wear and tear that comes from constant foot traffic. With this renovation, not only will the store be getting a fresh look, but it will also enhance the convenience shoppers have come to expect from their beloved neighborhood market.
Prepare for a host of upgrades that are set to make your shopping trips even better! Here’s what to expect:
Don’t worry about being shut out during renovations; the construction is expected to last just 15 weeks, and customers are welcome to shop throughout this time. That means you can enjoy the benefits of the updates as they roll out!
These renovations are part of a broader vision from Walmart, known as the “Store of the Future” concept. Throughout 2024, they began remodeling 650 existing stores and designing 12 new ones. They plan to continue this trend in 2025, with more store remodels and the construction of over 150 additional stores, all part of a total investment exceeding half a billion dollars. Louisiana alone will see 35 stores eyeing a makeover, and our very own Bossier City market is leading the charge!
Meanwhile, Walmart has more plans brewing in Louisiana. Other Walmart locations, including the supercenter at 1629 E. Creswell Lane in Opelousas, will also benefit from renovations, which will include upgrades to the auto care center and deli/bakery areas. Upon completion, there will even be a celebratory event to mark the occasion!
Payton is enthusiastic about the new features, including upgraded shopping carts with larger toddler seats, drink holders, and cell phone holders. With all these exciting renovations on the way, Bossier City’s Walmart Neighborhood Market is gearing up to deliver an unparalleled shopping experience for all its customers!
So, gear up, locals—new beginnings are on the horizon at your neighborhood market!
