High-speed police chase
It’s been quite a day in Bossier Parish as shocking events unfolded involving a theft, a high-speed chase, and a serious crash that left residents and law enforcement officers on their toes. Buckle up while we take you through what went down in this small town!
It all started when a 27-year-old man named Kaleb Janeczko decided to take a joyride in a truck that was left running outside a home in Elm Grove. Now, we all know what a big no-no that is, right? Well, apparently, Kaleb didn’t get the memo. Just minutes after the theft was reported, an officer from the Haughton Police Department spotted the truck. They tried to pull him over, but that’s when the plot thickened. Instead of stopping, Kaleb decided to hit the gas and speed away!
With the sirens blaring and lights flashing, you’d think he’d have the sense to pull over, but Kaleb wasn’t about to let that happen. Instead, he became a fugitive on the go! Unfortunately for him, his joyride ended sooner than he might have hoped. As he made his getaway, he crashed head-on into another vehicle on South Elm Street, right in the heart of Bossier Parish.

They had to literally extract the victim from the wreckage, and sadly, the injured person was flown to Ochsner’s LSU Medical Center for immediate treatment. While first responders worked tirelessly to ensure the safety of the crash victim, Kaleb wasn’t hanging around. He fled the scene on foot, trying to escape the consequences of his actions. What was he thinking? Did he really believe that running away could help him?
As the hours went by, law enforcement sprang into action. The Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office, alongside Haughton Police, Louisiana State Police, K-9 units, and even a drone, initiated a thorough search of the area to locate the rogue suspect. Talk about a team effort!
After several hours of searching, luck finally ran out for Kaleb Janeczko. A Haughton officer spotted him and quickly took him into custody. Finally, the chase was over! Kaleb was then handed over to the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office and booked into the Bossier Maximum Security Facility. It seems he won’t be going anywhere in a hurry.
Kaleb Janeczko now faces some serious charges resulting from his reckless actions that day. While the bond has yet to be set, there’s no doubt that he will be facing the consequences of not only stealing the vehicle but also putting lives at risk with his dangerous behavior on the road.
Today’s events in Bossier Parish serve as a somber reminder of how quickly joyriding and reckless behavior can spiral out of control.
