BPCC, BSO, and BCPD Forge Training Partnership for Law Enforcement Personnel

The Bossier Parish Community College (BPCC) is set to formalize a significant training partnership with the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office (BSO) and the Bossier City Police Department (BCPD). The agreement, to be signed on Monday, March 4, marks a milestone in bolstering education and training opportunities for law enforcement personnel in the region. The partnership entails BPCC providing comprehensive training programs leading to associate degrees, diplomas, certificates, and industry-based credentials tailored for BSO and BCPD personnel. This initiative aims to enhance the skill set and expertise of law enforcement professionals while offering them avenues for career advancement and personal growth.

Additionally, BPCC will extend student support services and tuition assistance to eligible personnel, further facilitating their educational pursuits. Chancellor Dr. Rick Bateman, Jr., expressed the significance of investing in the development of first responders, emphasizing the pivotal role education and training play in fostering safer communities. “At Bossier Parish Community College, we are dedicated to supporting the educational needs of our law enforcement partners,” stated Chancellor Bateman. “Our collaboration with the Sheriff and the Police Chief underscores our commitment to providing high-quality education and training opportunities to enhance public safety.”

Signing Ceremony Details

The signing ceremony is scheduled to take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 4, in the Chancellor’s Conference Room (Building A, Room 230) on the BPCC campus, situated at 6220 E. Texas Street in Bossier City. Chancellor Bateman will be joined by Bossier City Mayor Tommy Chandler, Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington, and Bossier City Police Chief Daniel Haugen for the signing, symbolizing the collective commitment to advancing law enforcement education and professional development in the region.
