The First Accident: A Night of Chaos

The first crash unfolded late at night on March 4, around 8:00 PM, in the 9500 block of LA Highway 79. Can you picture the scene? The tranquility of the night was shattered by a destructive multi-vehicle collision involving an eighteen-wheeler and two smaller vehicles.

According to reports, a gray sedan was traveling southbound when its driver made a critical mistake, turning right in front of the lumbering northbound eighteen-wheeler. This unfortunate decision led to a devastating collision that pushed the gray sedan into another vehicle that was trailing closely behind.

Sadly, the driver of the gray sedan was pronounced dead at the scene by the Caddo Fire District 3. In a twist of fate, the driver of the eighteen-wheeler suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was promptly transported to Willis Knighton North. Meanwhile, the occupants of the second vehicle, which was struck by the gray sedan, managed to sustain only non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to Ochsner/LSU Health for further evaluation.

The circumstances surrounding this tragic event remain under investigation as authorities work tirelessly to piece together what led to this unfortunate crash.

Despite the immediate response from Caddo Fire Districts No. 4 and No. 6, it was later confirmed that the driver of the pickup truck succumbed to their injuries upon arriving at the hospital.
