Caddo Parish Health Unit in Shreveport to Undergo Temporary Closure for Maintenance and Repairs

BATON ROUGE, La. – The Office of Public Health under the Louisiana Department of Health announced a temporary shutdown of the Caddo Parish Health Unit in Shreveport, starting from March 16th to March 25th. The closure will cater to necessary inspections, maintenance, and repairs. The facility is set to resume operations on March 26 as of 8 a.m.

Alternate Services and Sites during the Closure

During the temporary closure, services usually provided at the Caddo Parish Health Unit will be moved to other locations. These services include immunizations, WIC Cards reissuance, Tuberculosis clinic medication, STD testing and treatment, reproductive health services, among others.

The alternate sites include the LSUHS North Campus site (formerly Chevyland) located at 2627 Linwood Ave., Shreveport; other Region 7 parish health units, and the Environmental Health building located at 1033 Creswell Avenue, Shreveport.

Located at 1035 Creswell Ave. in Shreveport, the Caddo Parish Health Unit provides a variety of critical services. This includes reproductive health services such as family planning and STD/HIV prevention and care, WIC nutrition services, Tuberculosis testing and treatment, immunizations, Vital records services, and Sanitarian services.
