Investigation Underway for Catastrophic I-49 Crash in Caddo Parish

SHREVEPORT, La.

On the morning of Sunday, May 26, 2024, the tranquility of Shreveport, Louisiana was shattered by a devastating rollover car accident on I-49. Local authorities got wind of the incident at about 11 a.m. along the northbound lanes of the highway, close to mile marker 225 in North Caddo Parish.

Crash Details

According to preliminary investigations, a convertible Camero rolled over causing serious injuries to its occupants. Both individuals were said to have been ejected from the vehicle during the rollover, a fact that likely increased the severity of their injuries. The cause of the rollover is yet to be determined by investigating authorities.

Victims Rushed to the Hospital

Both victims from the crash were immediately transported to Ochsner LSU Health for urgent medical care. The driver, whose name has not been released, was taken by the North Caddo Ambulance while Life Air Rescue airlifted the passenger. The current medical conditions of the individuals involved in the crash are not known at this time.

Investigation into the Crash

The Caddo Sheriff’s Patrol Division is currently spearheading an intensive investigation into the crash. At this stage, no additional details about the accident or its cause have been released. Authorities are appealing to any potential witnesses of the crash to step forward with information that may assist with the investigation.
