Shreveport Invites Community to Spread Holiday Cheer with Last Chance Donations for Christmas Project

Shreveport Gears Up for the Holiday Spirit: Last Call for Donations!

The festive season is upon us, and Shreveport is buzzing with excitement as the countdown to Christmas begins! But wait, there’s a special call to action that everyone in the community can be part of, and it’s happening right now!

Clean Out Your Closet for Christmas Project

Tuesday marks the deadline for the 13th Annual Clean Out Your Closet for Christmas project, and organizers are eagerly awaiting your contributions. This is a fantastic opportunity for Shreveport residents to give back to families in need right in our community.

So, what’s needed? It’s pretty simple! Donations of new or gently used clothing, fresh packs of underwear and socks, as well as essential hygiene items like toothpaste, deodorant, soap, and shampoo are all welcome. Every little bit helps, and your generosity can light up someone’s holiday season!

A Heartwarming Collaboration

This year, the Sheriff’s Safety Town is proudly hosting this heartwarming project, working hand-in-hand with the Salvation Army and Providence House to ensure that your donations reach those who need them most. Isn’t that wonderful? Just think about how good it feels to know you’re making a real difference!

Drop-off Locations

If you’re ready to spread some holiday cheer, you can drop off your donations at any of the following locations:

  • Sheriff’s Safety Town: 8910 Jewella Ave
  • Caddo Correctional Center: 1101 Forum Drive
  • Government Plaza: 505 Travis St.
  • Communications Center: 1144 Texas Avenue

It’s as easy as pie! Just gather those items you no longer need but are still in great shape, and take them to one of the drop-off spots before the deadline. You’ll not only declutter your space but also share kindness with families in need!

Get Involved!

Want to know more? Or perhaps you have some questions about what to donate? Feel free to reach out to Cpl. Carlos Chenevert at (318) 698-SAFE (7233), who is more than happy to help. They’ve got all the details you might need to ensure your giving goes smoothly.

Join the Community Movement

This project is not just about donations; it’s about community. It’s about coming together and showing our support for one another. So, why not inspire your friends and family to join you? After all, there’s strength in numbers, and together we can create a wave of goodwill that’ll be felt throughout Shreveport!

As the holiday festivities draw near, let’s remember that the spirit of Christmas lies in caring for others. Each donation, big or small, plays a crucial role in bringing warmth and joy to families during this special time of year.

So, as Tuesday approaches, take a moment to look through your closets and gather items that could bring a smile to someone’s face. Let’s show Shreveport what it truly means to be generous and community-driven. You never know; your kindness might just be the light someone desperately needs this Christmas!
