Shreveport, La. – Crawfish outlets across ArkLaTex have been hit by the impacts of a problematic crawfish season, including the well-liked Crawfish Tyme in Shreveport, which is currently awaiting a confirmed reopening date.
Though open during the past weekend, Crawfish Tyme has not announced a firm date for its seasonal reopening. The crawfish season has been particularly tricky this year, claiming the restaurant manager, Joseph Schwalke. “Typically, we’d be open around December. However, owing to the drought and other challenging conditions, our opening this season was delayed,” Schwalke stressed.
The Shreveport Water Department reported issues related to the restaurant’s water. The Director of Water and Sewerage, William Daniel, stated, “Following a routine inspection of their water source we discovered their water was unauthorised. In addition, we found they did not possess a necessary occupancy license or health permit.”
Daniel added, “We have since informed them that water access from their neighbouring property must be discontinued immediately.”
The water department updated later that Crawfish Tyme now has its water supply restored, with an officially installed water meter. Responding to these updates, Schwalke said, “While I can’t comment on the specific issues, I can confirm that we have a working water meter and running water. We’re set to go.”
While acknowledging the upcoming challenges, Schwalke expressed an unflinching spirit and commitment to Shreveport’s crawfish fans, anticipating a swift reopening of their business. “Our community has been incredibly supportive. We’re looking forward to serving our valued customers again and promise to be back, better than ever this crawfish season.”
The reopening date remains uncertain but there are expectations of a possible commencement this coming weekend. Schwalke and his team affirmed their commitment, stating, “We enjoy an extraordinary bond with our community. We’ll be back in action this season, undeterred by any obstacle.”
As we step into the new crawfish season, customers are eager for the return of their beloved Crawfish Tyme, the business ready to dive into the market once again, with an enthusiasm that matches its community’s.
