Shreveport, La. – An elderly resident was fortunate to escape a dangerous house fire early this morning in the Caddo Heights neighborhood. The Shreveport Fire Department (SFD) received an emergency call at 6:05 a.m., and multiple fire units promptly responded to the scene located on Clanton Street.
Firefighters arrived to find flames visibly leaping from the front window of the residence. Thanks to the quick actions of the SFD, the elderly individual was found inside and successfully rescued from the burning home. Emergency personnel provided immediate treatment for minor smoke inhalation and other medical issues right on the scene.
The flames were brought under control by 6:17 a.m., involving the dedicated efforts of 24 firefighters and eight fire units. After the rescue, the elderly resident was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation and medical care.
As of now, investigators are working diligently to determine the cause of this early morning fire. The SFD is committed to ensuring the safety of all residents and is urging them to take precautions to prevent such incidents in the future.
