Excitement Builds for the State Fair of Louisiana in Shreveport

Shreveport, Louisiana is buzzing with excitement as the renowned State Fair of Louisiana gears up for its grand return this year. Mark your calendars folks! The fair is set to kick off on October 30 and will run until November 17, making it the perfect time for friends and families to enjoy some old-fashioned fun.

A Fair Like No Other

This will be the fair’s 118th year, and organizers assure us that it’s going to be a whole new ball game. New marketing manager, Russell Adams, promises that this year’s fair will feature a midway like we have never seen before. With a fresh partnership with a new carnival ride operator known for their amazing setups, visitors can expect top-notch rides that will thrill everyone in the family. The operator is recognized for working with the Dallas state fair, so Shreveport residents are in for a real treat!

Safety First

Organizers are not ignoring safety concerns either. This year, they will implement new security measures, including a clear bag policy to promote safety at the fair. Additionally, extra cameras will be installed to enhance monitoring. Adams stated that these initiatives will make the fair “a lot safer, a lot more fun for families to come out and have fun.”

Affordability is Key

Recognizing that many families are looking for ways to enjoy outings without breaking the bank, organizers are offering some great deals this year. For instance, on Halloween, admission will only be $3 per ride, which is pretty fantastic! Moreover, the fair will be free until 3 PM on weekdays, and even better, parking will also be free. This is truly a great opportunity for Shreveport’s families to enjoy an unforgettable experience without worrying too much about expenses.

Election Day Fun

If you’re wondering about the schedule, generally, the fair is closed on Tuesdays. However, there’s a fun twist this year! The fair will stay open on Election Day (November 5). Since many schools will be closed that day, it’s a wonderful opportunity for families to skip the ballot stress and enjoy a fun day at the fair instead. As Adams puts it, “It’s just a good fun day at the fair.”

Wrapping Up the Anticipation

As the opening day approaches, the buzz around the State Fair of Louisiana is undeniable. Whether you’re a thrill-seeker ready to hop on those new rides, a foodie eager to indulge in fair favorites, or a parent looking for family-friendly activities, there’s something for everyone. With all these exciting changes, this year’s fair is sure to create memories that will last a lifetime.

So don’t miss out on the chance to be part of this amazing event in Shreveport! Gather your friends and family, make your way to the fair, and dive into the fun and excitement awaiting you. Mark your calendar, and see you there!
