Local Crime Update: Vehicle Chase on Halloween
In other news, on the evening of October 31st, just as little ghouls and goblins were making their rounds, something a bit scarier was unfolding elsewhere in the city. Around 4:00 p.m., the Natchitoches Police Department received word from the Shreveport Police that a stolen vehicle was on the move, pinging its location in the 1400 block of Grayson Street.
Local officers, alongside the helpful troopers of the Louisiana State Police, sprang into action. They swiftly located the stolen vehicle and attempted a traffic stop. However, the driver seemed to have other plans, leading police on a brief car chase that ended when the vehicle crashed in the 300 block of Fourth Street.
The aftermath saw the two suspects fleeing on foot but quickly brought to justice. Both were arrested and face a variety of charges. Teondre Wright, a 24-year-old from Natchitoches, is facing charges including resisting arrest, possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled substance, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was promptly placed in the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center.
On the other hand, the younger accomplice, Trevonne Wright, just 17, is charged with aggravated flight, reckless operation, and illegal possession of stolen things. He has been placed in a detention center in Jackson Parish, reminding us of the serious consequences that come with such reckless behavior.
