Crowded Geek Convention Scene
Shreveport, Louisiana – The excitement is palpable as thousands of fans gather for the second day of Geek’d Con, one of the largest pop culture conventions in the ArkLaTex region. Taking place at the Shreveport Convention Center from August 16 to August 18, this year’s event features an impressive lineup of celebrity guests and a wide array of family-friendly activities tailored for enthusiasts of anime, comics, and geek culture.
The vibrant atmosphere is enriched by countless vendors and booths, offering everything from collectibles to comic books. Attendees are enjoying opportunities for meet-and-greets with celebrity guests, alongside browsing through diverse selections of trading cards and other memorabilia. Local vendors are particularly thrilled with the healthy turnout.
Jeremy Griffic, a local vendor, expressed the joy of engaging with visitors: “We’ve had people come by the booth all day long. It was really fun,” he shared. “Places like Shreveport-Bossier may not always get the spotlight, but events like this highlight our geek shops and hobby shops. We’re here, and people are noticing!”
Christopher Zepeda added, “It’s great to see whole families together, each member into some type of collecting or geek culture. It really brings the community together.”
