North Louisiana’s Largest Day of Giving, 11th Annual Give for Good, Set for May 7

11th Annual Give for Good coming up May 7

SHREVEPORT, La. – Give For Good is North Louisiana’s largest day of giving. Established in 2014 by Community Foundation of North Louisiana, Give For Good has raised over $19 million for our community. The event empowers the entire community to get involved in causes they care about while building awareness and support for hardworking local nonprofits. Give For Good provides a platform for all donors to transform our community for good.

Exciting Event Approaching

Excitement is building as the 11th annual Give for Good approaches. This year’s big day will be May 7, but you can donate beginning Tuesday, April 23 with early giving. The money donated from Give for Good is unrestricted, so the money raised can go wherever the charity would like it to go. Normally grant funds have to go to a specific program within the non-profit.

Lagniappe Fund

On top of the donations from Give for Good, Community Foundation has a Lagniappe Fund. This is extra dollars funded by Community Foundation and other supporting foundations, local businesses, and generous donors. If an organization raises 10% of all of the Give for Good donations, then they get 10% of the Lagniappe Fund.

How to Participate

Community Foundation offers plenty of resources to help organizations make the most out of this day of giving. If you are donating during Give for Good, there is a minimum donation of $10. If you cannot donate, there are other ways to give back like attending one of the nonprofit events or eating at a participating restaurant.

Previous Year’s Success

It was a banner year for Give For Good 2023. Thanks to the giving spirit of donors, $2,755,633 was raised for 209 organizations. There was a total of 4,412 donors. To learn more or become involved, contact the Community Foundation at 318-221-0582.
