Give for Good to your favorite nonprofit organization May 7

The day of giving raises thousands of dollars for north Louisiana organizations.

SHREVEPORT, La. –

Today is the day to Give for Good. The one-day giving challenge takes place from midnight to midnight on the first Tuesday in May every year. This day of giving raises thousands of dollars for North Louisiana organizations and brings the community together to celebrate nonprofits and the important work they’re doing. Over 200 nonprofit organizations are participating in the annual fundraising event.

KSLA News 12 will speak with some of the nonprofits Tuesday, May 7 live at Ki Mexico.

Donations and Events

Donations as low as $10 can be made online at the comfort of your home. Restaurants and businesses in the area are hosting events tonight to support the philanthropy.

“A lot of our local businesses are rallying around those local organizations and hosting them, giving back a percentage of their proceeds, so even if you just want to go out to eat tonight, find a restaurant that is supporting an organization that you care about or maybe you just love the restaurant. And now you can do good by going out to eat,” Amanda Felan with Community Foundation of North Louisiana said.

Community Foundation, who is leading Give for Good, says they have a $3 million goal this year. Go here to give to your favorite organization.
