Graduation Day in Caddo Parish: New Heroes Ready to Serve!

On a bright and hopeful day, November 8, the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office celebrated a joyous graduation ceremony for the bright new stars of Class 57 from the Caddo Sheriff’s Regional Training Academy. Held at the Re-Entry Building of the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office, this ceremony marked a milestone not just for the graduates but also for the communities they are ready to serve.

The New Graduates

Seven dedicated cadets have officially donned their badges and are more than ready to step into their roles as law enforcement officers. The graduates include:

  • Byron Washington Jr. (Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office)
  • Cheralyn Markosky (Bossier City Police Department)
  • Ladarryl Armstrong (Springhill Police Department)
  • Konnor Einerson
  • Daniel Puckett
  • Nicholas Morgan (Camp Minden)
  • Jeremiah Carroll (Vivian Police Department)

Each of these individuals has worked tirelessly, and it certainly showed as they took the next step in their careers!

Acknowledging Excellence

What’s truly heartwarming about this graduation ceremony was the recognition of outstanding achievements among the cadets. They didn’t just pass; they excelled!

  • Officer Jeremiah Carroll was honored with the Firearms Award, recognizing his sharpshooting skills and dedication to firearms training.
  • Officer Cheralyn Markosky received the coveted Academic Award, celebrating her outstanding performance in academic pursuits throughout the academy.
  • Officer Nicholas Morgan took home two awards, the Physical Fitness Award and the Leadership Award, showcasing his commitment to fitness and ability to lead.

It’s safe to say that these cadets have plenty to be proud of!

A Heartwarming Tradition

During the ceremony, a special moment took place that really tugged at the heartstrings of everyone present. As family members stepped up to the stage, they had the honor of pinning the badges onto the graduates for the very first time. What a proud moment for both the cadets and their loved ones!

Once the badges were pinned, it was time for the serious business. Sheriff Henry Whitehorn, Sr. administered the Oath of Office, a rite of passage for these new officers that solidifies their commitment to serving and protecting their communities. The atmosphere was electric, filled with applause and cheers from proud friends and families.

A Community Looking Forward

The completion of this academy training not only adds new faces to Caddo Parish law enforcement, but it also strengthens the bond between officers and community members. With dedicated individuals ready to uphold the law, the community can feel reassured and safe.

As the day came to a close, one couldn’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of pride and optimism. The future is indeed bright with these new officers stepping up to serve their communities.

Congratulations to Class 57!

So, here’s raising a toast to the wonderful graduates of the Caddo Sheriff’s Regional Training Academy, Class 57. May their careers be filled with positive impacts and inspiring stories as they embark on this noble journey in law enforcement.
