Grand Jury Indicts Shooter in Hawthorne Drive Slaying

In a recent development, Kelvin Boles, the resident of Hawthorne Drive who allegedly shot a 12-year old boy confessing to breaking into his car, has been indicted by the Caddo Parish Grand Jury for manslaughter. The incident took place outside Boles’ resident in the 8900 block of Hawthorne Drive on May 11th. The victim, Jaylen Coleman, was one of several youths reportedly attempting the break-in.

Earlier today, police arrested Boles from his residence in Shreveport under a warrant issued in wake of the indictment. This arrest follows the Grand Jury’s ‘secret true bill’ indictment that was released yesterday. According to the indictment, Boles allegedly shot and killed Jaylen Coleman, leading to his arrest and upcoming trial for manslaughter.
