Gunfire Erupts in Shreveport’s Mooretown Neighborhood

Shreveport, La. – On the evening of October 9, panic gripped the community of Mooretown as police officers responded to reports of gunfire in the area. The chaos unfolded just after 8:30 p.m. when officers rushed to the 4400 block of Norton Street, responding to the alarming reports flooding in about shots being fired.

Unexpected Encounter

As the brave patrol officers exited their vehicles, they found themselves in the middle of a dangerous situation. Instead of finding a quiet street, they were met with the sound of gunfire. Thankfully, there were no injuries reported among the officers, but the incident was a stark reminder of the unpredictable nature of their job.

Setting Up a Perimeter

In a swift and strategic response to the gunfire, officers quickly established a perimeter around the area. This tactical maneuver was crucial in ensuring the safety of the public and preventing the suspect from fleeing. A drone was also deployed to assist in the search, showcasing modern law enforcement’s efforts to use technology in keeping the community safe.

Identifying the Suspect

After assessing the situation, law enforcement officials identified the suspect as Keith Mosley Jr., born on October 1, 1988. Investigators from the Violent Crimes Unit took charge of the case and wasted no time securing warrants against him. He faces serious charges that include attempted first-degree murder and illegal carrying and discharge of a weapon.

Request for Community Help

Authorities have made it clear that Keith Mosley Jr. should be considered armed and dangerous. They are urging anyone who may have information about his whereabouts to come forward. “Do not approach him,” police have cautioned, emphasizing the importance of public safety.
