BOSSIER CITY, La. — Several events celebrating mothers were held throughout the ArkLaTex on Sunday (May 12), including a hand-casting art workshop in Bossier City. Point Studio Art opened its doors at Louisiana Boardwalk to celebrate Mother’s Day by hosting a two-hour workshop full of art and memories. Families had an opportunity to connect while holding their hands to create a masterpiece.
The studio’s owner said even though her mother is miles away, she still found a way to celebrate mothers in the area, giving them an opportunity to embrace their love with art. “It has been a relief to bring mothers with their child here so that I could actually kind of create that warm family environment,” artist Sara Rastegar said. ”And I literally felt my Mom was here today. “So we were having beautiful moms participating in this event. And we all laughed together and shared our stories.”
The hand-casting workshop allowed mothers and children to come together in a unique way, creating a lasting memory in the form of art. By intertwining their hands and casting them in various materials, families were able to create a physical representation of their bond and connection.
The workshop provided a platform for mothers and children to engage in an artistic process together, fostering communication, collaboration, and creativity. It allowed them to explore their artistic side while also strengthening their relationship through a shared experience.
Through the act of hand-casting, mothers and children were able to express their love for each other in a tangible and meaningful way. The workshop provided a space for them to celebrate Mother’s Day in a creative and personal manner, showcasing the beauty of the bond between a mother and her child.
By creating a hand-cast artwork together, mothers and children not only formed a physical memento of their relationship but also forged memories that will last a lifetime. The workshop served as a reminder of the importance of cherishing moments with loved ones and creating lasting keepsakes.
