Shreveport, Louisiana, buzzed with excitement as the inaugural Humor & Harmony Weekend, hosted by the G-Unity Foundation and hip-hop mogul 50 Cent, wrapped up in a whirlwind of laughter and unity. The four-day festival concluded on August 11, 2024, and it delivered an impressive mix of comedy, music, and sports, drawing in crowds from far and wide.
The G-Unity Foundation reported that the festival brought in **millions of dollars in economic impact** for the city, solidifying Shreveport’s reputation as a prime destination for entertainment and tourism. 50 Cent expressed his pride in the event’s success, thanking community leaders, sponsors, businesses, and attendees for their support. The festivities kicked off on Thursday evening with a spectacular comedy show that featured big names like Dave Chappelle and Katt Williams. The audience was treated to nearly four hours of entertainment that blended top-tier comedy with electrifying music performances from artists like 50 Cent, DaBaby, and Master P.
Shreveport’s first-ever dome, known as the G-Dome, played a crucial role in the festivities. It served as the venue for a live simulcast of the comedy extravaganza and hosted sold-out after parties featuring actors, musicians, and sports stars alike.
On Friday, the excitement continued with a highly anticipated celebrity basketball game at StageWorks. Team TDE edged out Team QC in a closely contested matchup, featuring athletes and entertainers such as Bow Wow and 2 Chainz. Boxer Bud Crawford was named MVP and honored with a custom-designed ring by 50 Cent.
The weekend wasn’t just about comedy and sports; families also enjoyed a myriad of activities at the 50 Fit Park, which featured inflatable obstacles and the world’s largest bouncy house. On Saturday and Sunday, festival-goers could admire stunning vehicles at the Drive Your Dreams Car Show, hosted by DJ Envy.
The Red River District came alive with pop-up restaurants and shops providing a vast array of food and drinks, including signature spirit brands like Le Chemin du Roi and Branson Cognac.
