Exciting Fall Event, Haunt the Harbor, Coming to Shreveport!
SHREVEPORT, La. – If you’re looking for a fun way to celebrate Halloween this year, look no further! Volunteers for Youth Justice is hosting a brand-new event called Haunt the Harbor, and it’s all set to take over the evening this Friday, November 1st, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at 3004 Knight Street. And guess what? The event is absolutely free!
Get Ready for Fun and Treats!
That’s right! The first 500 attendees will be treated to trick-or-treating, along with hot dogs, chips, and drinks—all gratis! It’s the perfect opportunity for families to come out, enjoy some spooky fun, and engage in community spirit. What’s in Store at Haunt the Harbor?
As Halloween approaches, this new event is designed to create a festive atmosphere for everyone. With costumed kids running around excitedly and the aroma of delicious food wafting through the air, you and your family won’t want to miss this experience! From fun games to little surprises scattered throughout the event, there’s something in store for everyone.
The Weather Is Looking Good!
Now, if you’re worried about what Mother Nature might have in store, fear not! According to the latest forecasts, we can expect considerable clouds early in the day, but they should lessen as the evening approaches. The temperatures will be quite comfortable, soaring up to a warm 87°F. Perfect weather for wearing those Halloween costumes!
Evening Outlook
The winds will be blowing gently from the south-southeast at 10 to 15 mph, making it a pleasant night to be outdoors. Take note, though, that a stray shower or even a brief thunderstorm is a possibility later in the day. However, it shouldn’t dampen the spirits, and we hope it stays dry for all the Halloween fun!

In other news, consumer confidence is rising among the locals, reaching the highest mark since 2021, thanks to findings from business research groups. It’s always good to feel secure and optimistic about the economy!
Safety Alert
Meanwhile, there have been a couple of public safety updates that residents should be aware of. The Louisiana State Police recently arrested two Shreveport firefighters as part of an ongoing investigation, and a woman was apprehended in New Orleans for stealing an ambulance that was responding to an emergency. Luckily, police are working hard to keep our community safe.
