Road Rage Shooting Reported on I-20 near Highway 80 in Greenwood
A deadly altercation stemming from road rage has taken place near Highway I-20 and U.S. Highway 80 in Greenwood in the early hours of the morning. This fatal incident reportedly led to the death of a male truck driver, making it a case of major concern about escalating violence on highways.
The Unfortunate Turn of Events
The incident reportedly occurred at around 10 a.m. and was responded to promptly by at least 15 units of the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office. According to officials, the violence erupted between the truck driver and another driver commanding a dark-colored Acura SUV. The verbal skirmish supposedly led to both drivers pulling over at the on-ramp of Exit 3 in Greenwood. The situation quickly escalated, resulting in the truck driver seeking to escape, only to be fatally shot by the SUV driver.
The Search for the Attacker
According to the authorities, the SUV driver left the scene right after the incident, believed to be heading west on I-20 towards Texas. In response to the alert, multiple agencies, including the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office, have joined in the manhunt for the SUV driver. Furthermore, dashcam footage obtained from two fellow truck drivers who witnessed the encounter is under investigation to provide additional insights.
