Sponsor Our ArticlesShreveport, Louisiana is buzzing with excitement as the second annual Inkin Shreveport kicks off this weekend, running from August 23-25. This tattoo convention invites art enthusiasts and curious onlookers alike to experience a colorful celebration of body art and creativity.
Located at the Shreveport Convention Center, this year’s event promises to be even bigger and better, showcasing over 100 tattoo artists and vendors from around the state and beyond. Attendees can explore a world of ink, browse through portfolios, and connect with artists to find the right fit for their next tattoo.
Local artist, Katie Lanam from University Ink Tattoo in Ruston, highlighted the community aspect of the convention. “My favorite thing about this is that you can walk around, and you can kind of have a feel with people, talk to them, look at their portfolio, look at what kind of designs they are offering,” she explained. This opportunity allows attendees to really find an artist whose style resonates with them.
Many attendees are eagerly awaiting the chance to reconnect with their favorite artists again this year. Krystal Kelly shared her excitement about getting tattooed by an artist she had met at last year’s event. “I wanted it that bad. We already planned it out,” she said, demonstrating the commitment of fans to their favorite tattooists.
The dedication extends beyond local talent. Ranae Madison, a tattoo artist from Naez Ink in Illinois, traveled back to Shreveport to once again deliver her artistry. “When your client seeks you out and they come back, I mean that’s rewarding itself for me,” she expressed, emphasizing the rewarding nature of building lasting relationships through art.
Inkin Shreveport is not just about tattoos; it invites a wider experience with numerous entertainment shows and more than 50 vendors showcasing various art forms and merchandise. The family-friendly atmosphere aims to captivate both tattoo enthusiasts and those new to the scene.
Tickets for this year’s Inkin Shreveport are available for $25, granting access to a weekend packed with unforgettable experiences. Whether you’re there to get inked, connect with artists, or simply enjoy the vibrant culture surrounding tattoos, the convention promises something for everyone.
As the weekend unfolds, Shreveport welcomes all to dive into the colorful world of tattoos and join in on the fun at Inkin Shreveport!
