Sponsor Our ArticlesA major fire broke out at a residential complex in Louisiana
The Shreveport Fire Department (SFD) responded to an emergency call for a fire at The Jolie Apartments, situated at 1017 Quail Creek Road, on May 26, 2024. Upon arrival at approximately 2:23 p.m., firefighters were met with heavy smoke and flames billowing from one of the apartment buildings in the complex. According to eyewitness reports, SFD successfully conducted evacuation measures, even managing to rescue one individual who was trapped inside the burning building.
The fire managed to severely damage numerous units within one of the complex’s two-story buildings. However, no injuries have been reported at this time. Our sources indicate that about 30 SFD units were active on the scene, and approximately 48 personnel were present in response to the blaze.
This unfortunate incident adds to a series of controversial issues that have plagued The Jolie Apartments. According to public records, both the power and water services to the complex were scheduled for disconnection on May 31, due to unresolved disputes between the service providers and the building administration.
Details about how the fire started are still uncertain, with local investigators having made no official statement as of yet. Meanwhile, residents of The Jolie Apartments are left to deal with the aftermath of the fire, while grappling with potential utility cutoffs in just a few days.
It is our objective to keep you informed with the most current details regarding this fire incident. Should additional updates arrive, we will promptly communicate them.
The local community has come together in solidarity during this trying time. A non-profit organization has initiated a donation drive to assist displaced tenants across three Shreveport apartment complexes, including The Jolie Apartments.
