SHREVEPORT, La. – Orlandeaux’s Cross Lake Café hosted a Juneteenth celebration on Wednesday, June 19. The event, organized by Damien Chapman, the fifth-generation owner of Orlandeaux’s Café, brought together the community for an evening of live entertainment, delicious food, and vibrant cultural celebration.
Chapman, who views Orlandeaux’s café as a vital part of the community, emphasized the importance of celebrating Juneteenth as a way to honor the culture and history of the Black community. For Catina Perry and her husband from Mansfield, the Juneteenth celebration at Orlandeaux’s Café held a special significance.
