Kenmiccael Ray Found Guilty in Landry Anglin Murder Case

Kenmiccael Ray Found Guilty in Landry Anglin Murder Case

SHREVEPORT, La.

In a tragic case that has captivated Shreveport, local resident Kenmiccael Dano Ray has been found guilty of second-degree murder. Ray stands convicted of the death of 13-year-old Landry Anglin, a tragic victim caught in crossfire on Fairfield Avenue.

Quick Verdict

An eight-woman, four-man jury found Ray guilty after deliberating for less than an hour, putting an end to a weeklong trial marked by emotional testimonies and revelations. The decision by the jury was unanimous, highlighting the overwhelming evidence against Ray.

A Tragic Turn of Event

The fatal incident occurred on May 1, 2022. Anglin was visiting her relatives on the 4500 block of Fairfield Avenue when a bullet struck her. Authorities determined the stray bullet was discharged during a fierce gun battle involving Ray and other gang members.

Evidence and Arrest

Shreveport police apprehended Ray in Arlington, Texas, five days after the unfortunate event. Evidence presented during the trial revealed that he had in possession a Kel-Tech assault weapon, which was identified to have fired the fatal bullet.

Expert witnesses, including forensic personnel from the North Louisiana Crime Lab, solidified the prosecution case by establishing a direct link between the fatal bullet and Ray’s possession. Shreveport police officers and Texas-based U.S. Marshals were among the law enforcement officials who testified during the trial.

Impending Sentence

Kenmiccael Dano Ray faces the prospect of a mandatory life sentence without the possibility of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence. He is scheduled to be sentenced in Judge Ramona Emanuel’s court on July 16.

Shaken Community

The verdict has sent shockwaves through the community, shaking residents and prompting calls for an end to senseless violence that affects innocent lives. The memory of Landry Anglin will continue to be a grim reminder of the dangers posed by gang violence in the city.
