Breaking away from traditional themes, the event will channel the spirit of iconic pop star Lady Gaga, with a theme inspired by her music, style, and empowering message – “Born This Way.”
Sam Ortiz, a dedicated member of ShrevePride, shared the organization’s mission of fostering safe and inclusive spaces for members of the LGBTQ+ community. “ShrevePride is all about allowing individuals to be their truest selves, embracing their unique identities without fear or judgment,” Ortiz explained.
With a lineup packed with live music, dazzling drag performances, and a multi-floor experience paying homage to Lady Gaga’s extravagant world, this year’s Q-Prom promises to be an unforgettable celebration of diversity, self-expression, and unity.
The inception of Shreveport Q-Prom in 2019 marked a turning point in the local Pride Month celebrations, offering a fresh and exciting opportunity for everyone to relive the magic of prom night. “This event is not restricted to any specific group. It is a chance for all to come together, rejoice, and create lasting memories,” said Chris Lyon, co-founder of ShrevePride.
Whether you are a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community or a staunch ally, Shreveport Q-Prom beckons you to let loose, dance the night away, and embrace your true colors in a vibrant and welcoming environment.
Expressing excitement for the upcoming festivities, co-founder Sam Ortiz emphasized Shreveport’s burgeoning reputation as a premier destination for Pride Month activities. “The resonance of events like Shreveport Q-Prom extends beyond our city limits, drawing visitors from far and wide to come and revel in the spirit of Pride,” Ortiz noted.
ShrevePride’s dedication to inclusivity is exemplified by their provision of scholarship tickets for those facing financial constraints. “No one should be deprived of the opportunity to partake in Pride celebrations due to financial limitations. Our scholarship tickets ensure that everyone can join in the fun,” Ortiz added.
The highly-anticipated Shreveport Q-Prom will take place on Saturday, June 22, from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m. at the vibrant artspace in downtown Shreveport. Tickets are available for $35 in advance, with the option of purchasing at the door for $40. For those in need, scholarship tickets are accessible to guarantee inclusivity for all.
Individuals aged 16 and above are invited to attend the soirée to dance, celebrate, and bask in the joyous atmosphere of acceptance and love.
