Look no further than Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase of the Cincinnati Bengals. In a nail-biting overtime showdown against the Denver Broncos, the duo played pivotal roles in securing a 30-24 victory. Burrow shined brightly, throwing for a league-high 412 yards while achieving an impressive completion rate of 79.6%. He threw three touchdown passes and even showed off his speed by rushing for another score, solidifying his position as a top quarterback in the league.
Chase was also on fire, making nine catches for 102 yards. His dynamic performance not only helped the Bengals notch their fourth consecutive win but also solidified a new NFL record for the most receiving yards in a season by alumni from one university. Talk about team spirit and LSU pride!
Meanwhile, LSU’s rookie sensation Jayden Daniels is making headlines too. In his debut season, Daniels threw for 227 yards, completing 24 of 36 passes, and added three touchdowns, with the game-winner coming in overtime as his team triumphed over the Atlanta Falcons, matching the Bengals’ thrilling 30-24 score. Not to be outshined in his first year, Daniels showcased his athleticism, rushing for a career-high 127 yards and breaking the rookie quarterback rushing record previously held by Robert Griffin III. His total for the season now stands at an incredible 864 yards.
But wait, there’s more! Malik Nabers had a remarkable outing for the New York Giants, tallying seven receptions for a jaw-dropping 171 yards and two touchdowns against the Indianapolis Colts. Brian Thomas Jr. also made his mark in the Jaguars’ 20-13 win over the Tennessee Titans, contributing with seven catches that totaled 91 yards and a touchdown.
Another LSU standout, Justin Jefferson, grabbed eight passes for 92 yards in a tight contest against the Green Bay Packers, finishing the season with an impressive total of 1,479 receiving yards. In the Eagles’ commanding 41-7 victory over the Cowboys, Devonta Smith caught six passes for 120 yards and two touchdowns, marking a strong effort that demonstrated the remarkable talent emerging from the LSU ranks. Meanwhile, Justin Reid contributed to the Kansas City Chiefs’ 29-10 victory, collecting five tackles and an interception that helped his team secure another win.
