First-ever Women in LeadHERship Conference Coming to LSU Shreveport

LSU Shreveport’s Continuing Education department will host the inaugural Women in Leadership Conference on March 22, 2024. This in-person half-day event aims to inspire women, encouraging them to build strong connections, gain valuable insights, and participate within a supportive community dedicated to furthering women’s leadership roles.

“We are excited to announce that the LSUS Women in Leadership Conference is set to make its awaited return,” said Leigh Anne Chambers, Interim Executive Director of Enrollment Management at LSUS. “While it was initially planned for 2020 but had to be postponed due to COVID-19, we are now more eager than ever to empower women leaders.”

Long-standing evidence supports the benefits of imbibing more women in leadership roles to establish a more inclusive work environment. Gender diversity at the apex level of companies fosters innovative and collaborative decision-making. A study by McKinsey & Company corroborates that companies with a high level of gender diversity in executive positions are 25% more likely to have above-average profitability than those lacking such diversity.

Keynote Speakers Taking the Podium

The Women in Leadership conference will feature three captivating keynote sessions, with central themes around health, empowerment, and resilience. The keynote speakers are Jessica Latin, who will talk on health, Sam Ortiz covering the topic of resilience, and Angel Martin discussing empowerment. Furthermore, attendees will benefit from breakout sessions for careful discussions, complemented by a networking breakfast and lunch service.

The conference offers a vibrant and inclusive environment to encourage growth, promote connections, and bring about meaningful change. It will bring together industry experts, trailblazers, and aspiring leaders to initiate pertinent conversations on issues that impact women advancing in leadership positions.

Registration and Other Details

Participants can avail of an early bird price of $49 (regular price $59) by registering for the conference before March 16. For further information on the agenda and to register for the conference, visit the LSUS Continuing Education website.
