Sponsor Our ArticlesThe LSU Tiger Girls showcased their talents at the UDA College & Dance Team National Championships, finishing sixth in hip-hop. Their dynamic performance captivated the audience, while their jazz routine fell short. Despite mixed results, the future looks bright for the talented team, who have a history of national success and a loyal fanbase. Fans eagerly anticipate what the Tiger Girls will bring to future competitions.
Orlando, Florida – The LSU Tiger Girls made quite an impression at the recent Universal Dance Association (UDA) College & Dance Team National Championships. Competing against some of the best college dance teams in the country, the Tiger Girls showcased their talents in the hip-hop finals on a lively Sunday night. The excitement in the air was palpable, and the team’s performance has left fans buzzing.
When the final results rolled in, the LSU Tiger Girls secured a respectable sixth place in the highly competitive hip-hop division. Their routine, set to Justin Timberlake’s catchy smash hit, “Cry Me a River,” was a standout performance that showcased dynamic choreography and stunning execution, solidifying their reputation as a force to be reckoned with in the dance community.
Finishing just behind the champions, the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), who took first place, the competition was fierce. The Tiger Girls were not only competing for a trophy, but they were also doing their best to live up to the high expectations set by their previous year’s success.
In 2024, the Tiger Girls brought home the national championship title with an unforgettable performance to Michael Jackson’s iconic “Smooth Criminal.” Their 2024 routine was the talk of the town and acted as a stepping stone, placing them in the spotlight as they headed into the 2025 championship.
This year, their impressive hip-hop performance, which even went viral thanks to its inventive use of umbrellas as props, attracted attention across social media platforms. Fans eagerly anticipated their routine, highlighting the growing popularity of the LSU Tiger Girls.
While the team shone in the hip-hop division, the journey wasn’t as smooth in the jazz competition. The Tiger Girls finished in 12th place in jazz, narrowly missing a chance to advance to the finals. In contrast to their 2024 performance, where they landed in third place, the jazz results this year were a disappointment, but certainly not a reflection of their talent.
Alongside the Tiger Girls, the LSU cheer team also showcased their spirit and energy during the championships. Unfortunately, they finished in 15th place and did not qualify for the finals. However, they did have a moment to shine previously on Friday, securing fifth place in the game day cheer finals.
While this year’s championship didn’t yield the results they might have hoped for, the LSU Tiger Girls have a bright future ahead. With a history of success, including their fantastic wins in 2022 and 2024, the team has proven they have the skills and dedication to continue competing at a high level. Fans are already buzzing about what the Tiger Girls will bring to the stage in 2026!
As the lights dimmed on the UDA Championships, the LSU Tiger Girls may be coming home with a sixth place finish, but their spirit, skill, and impressive presence at the event will keep them in the hearts of fans for years to come.
