Shreveport Salon Engulfed in Flames: Fire at My Spa My Way

Fire Breaks out at Spa my way

Late on Thursday night, a fire broke out at My Spa My Way, a popular spa and salon located on East Kings Highway in Shreveport. The Shreveport Fire Department reported that heavy smoke was observed billowing from the roof of the establishment as they arrived on the scene minutes after the incident was reported. The cause of the fire is currently unknown and is being investigated.

Mammoth Effort from Shreveport Fire Team

The fire elicited a significant response with as many as twenty-two fire units responding to the emergency call. The fierce blaze took 31 firefighters and over an hour of combative efforts to get under control. Despite the magnitude of the fire, no injuries were reported, as the business had ceased operations for the day.

Devastating Aftermath for Business Owner

“We are literally going to have to start over,” says Felicia Williams, the owner of the spa. With the establishment operating for over 18 years in Shreveport, the loss has severely impacted Williams and her team. Much of the establishment’s interior, including the equipment and supplies, has been destroyed by the fire.

Continuing Business at Sister Spa

Despite the setback, Williams is determined to sustain her business and support her staff. She is now channelling her business to her second spa location, Spa Blu, inside Sam’s Town Casino. She reiterated that all appointments that were scheduled at My Spa My Way are now transferred to the Spa Blu location.

Supportive Response from the Community

Williams notes that there has been an outpour of support from the community since news of the incident broke. Long-time customers expressed relief for being able to continue their treatments at Spa Blu, while others sent empathetic messages and extended their support.

A Call to Support the Local Business

Regular customers are calling on the local community to extend their support to the business. “First of all, keep them in your prayers because of what happened,” says Nacasha Hall, a 5-year customer who just transferred to Spa Blu. She adds that everything is still functional at Spa Blu and encourages locals to continue their patronage.
