Shreveport, La. – A tragic event unfolded early Thursday morning in the busy vicinity of North Hearne and Hilry Huckaby III avenues when a 31-year-old man, identified as Melvin Linear Jr., lost his life after being struck by a vehicle.
Authorities were alerted just after 2:20 a.m. when a passerby reported a man lying on the highway. Shreveport police swiftly responded to the scene and found Linear unresponsive.
Despite the quick arrival of emergency personnel, Linear was pronounced dead at the scene. He was positively identified through a fingerprint comparison conducted by the Caddo coroner’s office.
