Local Auto Sales Expected to Soar Over Memorial Day Weekend

Bossier City, LA Gearing Up for Memorial Day Car Sales Surge

Memorial Day weekend is traditionally a time when auto sales experience a significant uptick. The city of Bossier, Louisiana, is no exception to this rule. “Historically, it’s always been a fruitful weekend for us as school concludes and individuals gear up for the summer season,” proclaims local car dealer Tommy Harvey, owner of Harvey Autos.

Plentiful Vehicle Options for Shoppers This Year

This year’s shoppers are in for a wide array of vehicles to choose from. Harvey discloses that, for the first time since the onset of the pandemic, area auto lots are brimming with cars. The industry is bouncing back after a severe chip shortage crisis earlier that resulted in halting manufacturing.

“We’ve finally got a significant number of chips in stock; that was the major hindrance and had decimated our inventories to practically nil,” Harvey said. “We’ve rectified a lot of the issues in the manufacturing process,” Harvey added. “Having more stock will enable us to recoup our volume margin from what it used to be years back. It’s a gradual process, but we’re on the right path.”

Rapid Inventory Enhancement

According to the data from Cox Automotive, inventory levels are up by a staggering 50 percent from last year. Cox Automotive assesses that the auto industry is on the path to its best year since 2019.

Making the Right Buying Choices

Auto sales are traditionally strong during the Memorial Day weekend, with many consumers taking advantage of promotions and special financing offers. With the increased inventory this year, customers are being urged to do their research and shop around to ensure they are getting the best deal possible. Whether they are looking for a versatile crossover for family getaways, a reliable sedan for commute, or a sporty convertible for summer drives, consumers are sure to find exactly what they are looking for this Memorial Day weekend.

Heading Toward a Record-Breaking Year

The standstill triggered by the global semi-conductor shortage is finally releasing its grip on the auto industry. Local car dealers like Harvey are optimistic about the future. “We’ve overcome a significant hurdle; now it’s just a matter of catching up. We’re heading toward a record-breaking year,” Harvey predicts.
