Sponsor Our ArticlesA missing Keithville woman was located earlier today by a combined agency search party in a marshy area surrounding Red River. The search party was spearheaded by the Sheriff’s offices of Caddo and Red River parishes.
The woman, whose identity is being kept confidential for privacy reasons, was reported missing on Monday evening, around 5 PM. She was last seen leaving her residence in Caddo Parish. With her sudden and unexpected disappearance, the local authorities quickly geared up their efforts to trace the woman.
Investigators, highly concerned for the safety of the woman, received a key lead implicating that the woman’s vehicle might be located near the Red River Bridge in Coushatta. This significant piece of information was provided by the manufacturer of the woman’s car. Upon receiving this crucial hint, Red River deputies were immediately dispatched to the area.
Their search efforts led them to discover the woman’s car near the boat launch, abandoned and unlocked. While the location of the vehicle added to the mystery of the woman’s sudden disappearance, it allowed investigators to narrow down their search to the neighboring areas of Red River.
To boost the search operation’s success rate, the Red River Sheriff’s Office coordinated a multi-agency search, which included teams from the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries and the Red River Fire Protection District. A collective search began encompassing the territory stretching up to a mile south of the described bridge.
The search operation led to a breakthrough when Red River Fire personnel found the woman standing in a marshy area of the river, approximately one mile south of the bridge. An immediate sense of relief spread among the rescue team and the Sheriff’s offices who were tirelessly working to locate her since she was reported missing.
Upon discovery, the woman was promptly transported to a local hospital for a necessary medical examination and evaluation. According to initial reports, no foul play is suspected in her disappearance. Further information is awaited as investigations continue into the mysterious circumstances surrounding the woman’s unusual disappearance and subsequent recovery.
The dedication and swift action of all participating agencies demonstrate their commitment to community safety and highlight the effectiveness of multi-agency collaboration under critical circumstances.
